Top 5 Tips Before You Move to Your New Home!

What should you do before you move in to your new home?

1.       Find a good mover – doing on your own is fine but I would really insist on getting a good mover. It is harder to move that what you remember.

2.       Secure a good packing material – whether that came from your mover or the giant down the street or whatever the case maybe, it’s probably better to find the professional boxes that you can unfold and that will make the whole transition a lot simpler.

3.       Organize your items – perhaps you may want to throw or donate some things out or perhaps you may want to relocate some things so you want to get those organized. Go ahead and make those transitions then place everything else on the box to get ready for the movers.

4.       Transfer all the utilities – this is something you do not want to forget to do because you don’t want to be in your new home on your 2nd night and getting surprised that you don’t have A/C or heater or even worse is you can’t watch football because the previous owner already cancelled the utilities.

5.       Update your new address – make sure that you forward your mail to the correct address. Check in with the post office. You may also want to check that all that boxes that get delivered by mover are correct so you won’t have any problems with any of your materials.

So, hopefully that’s helpful for you. If you have more questions about moving, feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I’d love to speak with you.
